Gerard Baker is Editor in Chief of The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones, roles he assumed on January 1, 2013.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Baker served as the Journal’s Deputy Editor in Chief.

Mr. Baker previously worked for the Financial Times, the BBC, and the Times of London.

Mr. Baker started his working life as an analyst at the Bank of England, and then as an economist in the city of London.

He was educated at Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, where he graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
